I certainly am NOT any expert on the UK - but would like to just offer this, my observations and feelings when I was in London a couple or so years ago.

Yes, one of the nicest Cities in the whole world - but what I now do NOT appreciate are all these young punk hoodies, skin heads or whatever roaming all over the place - with their generally anti-social, loutish, aggressive and abusive behaviour to just about everybody and even everyTHING around.

Not being English ourselves, my SO is especially wary of these young thugs roaming about, as their behaviour are more akin to animals than a human being. Sorry to be bellicose and perhaps even offensive on my statement - but please understand that I mean it to ONLY refer to these young thugs.

And talking about Football - my SO and I had the misfortune of one night walking back to our place when we walked past a pub where a bunch of Football fans were having some kind of rally or celebration - and its was actually quite frightening the way they taunted and harassed not only just about all passerby's - but that they seem to especially zero in on foreigners like us.

Is this the kind of image that England and Englishmen want to portray of their country?  And if not - somebody'd better get cracking before the Olympics are held.

I've been coming to the U.K. for many many years and had many a good times there - but every year it seem like things get worse instead of better. Pity.

Really bad for UK image in the world. What happened to the old British way.  Class divisions may be breaking down.
