exact opposite bro.
HK law is 50/50
even if you originally signed a contract that stipulates a different arrangement
now, if your wife is a rich bitch and YOU signed a prenup agreeing to take ...
Not exactly right.
Hong Kong's divorce laws are modelled on the English common law - and was drawn up to protect the rights of wives (and make sure that the "State" don't have to foot the bill for the bastard hubbie!!).
The first and guiding principle that Hong Kong Family Law Courts will adhere to is that the wife/kids will NOT suffer any degradation to the lifestyle that they had been enjoying when the family was still a unit. That means that even when they are divorced, the hubby's still got to provide the same "standard of living" including equivalent levels of accomodations, schooling for the kids, regular family vacations - even Gucci Bags if that is what the family lifestyle had been!
Parental rights to kids - wives wins hands down! If she wants the kids, the court's gonna give them to her.... and the hubby's gotta foot all the bills!!
So that 50-50 is MOSTLY wrong. Yes, you got a kidless couple - it's probably 50-50. Couple with 2 kids - it's 75% for the wife and kids and 25% for the hubby. Argue this - what =- anybody gonna argue about providing for their own kids?
Sour grapes on my part?? You betcha!!
