The Boys are Back in Town

With the USS Nimitz strike group dropping by, I'm wondering if there will be a shortage of WGs over the next few days.

I don't know about you, but I know exactly where I'd be going if I was coming to HK after being at sea for five months with 5000 men.  I'm guessing that those rip-off hostess bars in Wanchai will have good business... I mean, that's a lot of seamen!

Come to think of it, perhaps this is a good time for some English speaking agents to try to attract the sailor crowd.  Maybe the 141 owners could airdrop a few thousand advertising leaflets onto the carrier deck

Anyway, back to the main point, does WG business improve when the USN are in town?  If so, would it just be the Wan Chai crowd, as that area's more (in)famous overseas, or will the HGs and walkups be busy too.

I generally avoid wanchai at costs when the USA navy is in town.  I dont want to be around alot of drunk sailors who may get in a punchy mood, though they are quite well behave esp with the Shore Patrol standing nearby.

There are some in LKF, but not so many bec drinks are so much more expensive in LKF and some of the clubs there restrict the navy guys.

I dont know about the sex industry as I don't go enough to make the correlation, but I would guess if you punt in the NT and Kowloon, except TST and Yaumatei, you should have no problems with bookings.

Hong Kong ain't properly china though, plus the PRC probably thing well if there is an aircraft carrier in dock we can possibly examine their tech!.

Remember in war China is playing the long game, 5000 USN crew land in HK = more dollars for mother china!

dont be too concerned Bro, they fill the bars up and no doubt it's an impressive sight to see so many fine young men & women. However most will get really really drunk. Just be patient.

If you continue to have a problem in Wan Chai, head over to Kowloon and try places in TST & Mong Kok.

You'll probably get shot down before you can even see the carrier deck if you're trying to drop fliers.

??

Could always be a honey trap though, in that USN sailors can be blackmailed or seduced to reveal USN secrets. Kind of like how quite a few folks here fear that mirrors are two way mirrors and there is a camera behind so the WG can blackmail you. Imagine if a few of the officers of the Nimitz were caught balls deep in a WG and blackmailed to tell their wives how they would react.

Oh yes, but with that many sailors in town you can guarantee there will be many submarines firing missiles into WG ports :-)
