Just thinking about the different types of posters we have in this forum ... (this list to be continued)

1.        The ideal poster … posting reports most of the time and making comments when necessary
2.        The prolific poster … posting few reports but making comments on everything and anything
3.        The status poster … posting some genuine posts but mostly garbage to increase his status
4.        The voyeur poster … posts garbage just to attain RA30 then stops posting
5.        The sadistic poster … makes replies /creates topics just to get reactions out of others
6.        The insincere poster … posting under different identities at the same time
7.        Cunts … makes false reports and posts pictures stolen from others

Please feel free to expand on this list …

You missed

The Spam Poster - makes one single post and never returns
The Invisible Poster - registers, then lurks for years and years
The Mercenary Poster - writes up highly complimentary reports about aging fugly pork chops for some reason noone can ever figure out
The Combat Poster - makes a sport of picking on contradictions and mistakes in others' posts
The Nymph Poster - joins in on a couple of chats sharing the female perspective (this one's rare!)
The SO Poster - makes a string of outraged comments about how bad men are for wanting sex then disappears (also surprisingly rare)

I think it is interesting to consider how 141 is made up of a such a varied group. Varied degrees of participation in both the forum and also the hobby itself. That leads to varies levels of experience and knowhow. Certainly it is that part which has been of most benefit to me, Whilst I have a significant amount experience in some areas of mongering, in other areas, prior to joining this forum I obviously knew almost zero. So you can add another one to the list...

the "learning curve" poster... the type that has found 141 a good place to expend one's knowledge on the subject.

vicarious poster- living through the lives of the goose and the like, only to dream of getting rid of the SO and heading east. hahaha

rat poster- a person who reads and attempts to get orgy meetings going, in order to rat them to the LEP's, who crash the party and reap the benefit of kickdown cash bribes.

have we had anyone uncover a rat in the forum before?

hmmm ... interesting about the rat poster ... I have heard of this but few and far in between,
question ... this rat ... you experienced this yourself ... in HK / China ?

The Travel posted - Swings by each time they are in town, post some stuff and then is gone for 6 months.

the "soap opera" poster, a person who writes every little dramatic detail about the mongering session, but very few points about the "punt" itself!

Hi twice. Interesting thread! I'm gonna have to say that each poster is different, because we're all individually a combination of different types, and the combination itself changes over time, too. No one is one type only. I've no idea how many types we can come up with (hope to get a few laughs on this thread though!), but I do know that there is definitely one type of poster that just does not exist... the type #1 in your list!

I would disagree there are a few members that post in the HK reports section that could be classified under type #1 (without having to name members)....

I agree. When I am in Hong Kong (8 - 10 times a year for 7 - 10 days each time) I can be a different type of poster than when I am out of town. Personally I would hate to think I can only contribute in a "useful" or "interesting" way while I am in HK.

I think you have hit the nail on the head though, those of us not permanently residing in HKG can only offer up the really "good stuff" (reports) while we are in HK so that effectively changes the way we contribute. Sure we could add something based on where we are, however I know alot of Bros who dont Monger at all in their "home town" and so are very much restricted to providing reports when they travel.

As a side effect of this, Bros keen to advance their status (which probably includes 99% of the members with < RA30 inc me no doubt) are inclined to look for other (non reports) things to post about until they return to HK or places they are happy to operate. This is possibly the single most influential reason for spamming and inane posts. Just a thought...


I think Bro Goose is a good example of type #1. I imagine there are others but his regular and detailed reports come to mind.

maybe some other additions:

the Ghost Poster (not to be confused with the Invisible Poster) - where a member lurks around and does not contribute
the Stalker Poster - stalks fellow members
the Travelling Poster - travels through town to get the latest updates where to punt!

the ad poster ... posts reports to give more business to that WG

I don't see much of that on the English forum but would expect it to be far more prevalent on the Chinese side.

the self poster ... where the WG posts reports of herself

There are also the :

"Virgin" Poster - One who posts to learn how to 'lose' it.
"Confused" Poster - One who posts may non-sexual related topics in a sex forum.
