Basic question: ML vs Whole Pkg

I am newbie visiting HK for the first time next week. Have been reading the forum. Still not clear about what to expect when it says ML or Whole Package or it says nothing after the price.  I would really appreciate if someone could explain that or point me to an existing thread.
