I've been wondering this, i stay in Hong Kong side 10 days a month working but i live in Mainland China. Just wondering if i would skip town to Macao side and if my SO would happen to call me from mainland or sending messages and i would reply, would he be able to see that im in Macao>? i know its kinda wishful thinking hehe but want to be sure before i do anything stupid and get caught pants down

if you have a mainland sim, they no difference being in HK or Macau.
for phone call, roaming always have a special tone, but she only knows you using roaming not the place you are
for sms is even better, roaming sms is never mention.

the only way she can know is if she check you phone bill, and see Macau mention on it.

With the ringing tone that they hear however, sometimes they can guess that, for eg. you're NOT in China,
as that one has a distinctive tone for the caller.

One solution is to buy another simcard, then use a call divert - but that;s a bit complicated

Whenever I got to Macau, I always get spam SMS messages from my operator Smartone Vodafone. One of them is advertising a paid 'Stealth Roaming' service, which would make the caller hear a Hong Kong ringtone etc, so that nobody knows you're in Macau.
