Strip joints in Tokyo are very different than strip joints in the US or Canada.

First thing is that after you pay the cover charge and go in, you'll think that the club is very small, and that the stage is small.  And that it's quiet.

Second thing is that the girls don't come to you and ask if you want some company; you have to tell one of the bartenders or club managers that you want to speak to a particular girl.  He will then ask her to go over to you.  

She will then act like a hostess and pour drinks, light your ciggie, etc.  You will be expected to buy her an expensive watered down drink.  She does not make conversation, you do.  And most importantly, no touching or fondling unless she starts.

During stage shows, you can't whistle or holler.  Nor can you go up to the stage to stuff bills down their G-strings.  And shows are pretty boring.

My advice is to skip the strip joints if you're expecting or are used to Western strip joints.
