Booking a HG, what language to use?

Right guys heres the issue,

I will be in HK later this year (if all goes to plan) for a short holiday, along with an english speaking friend.

I'm a fluent speaker in both Cantonese and English, but I was wondering what language you guys use to make an appointment with a HG agent?

Also, would it be more successful if I made the booking for my friend in Cantonese? But when he turns up to the hotel, obviously it'll be english only - so would this cause disruption/rejection because the HG is expecting a chinese person?

seems like it would depend on the agent. for example, I've heard that James speaks English so u would have no problem making a booking in English with him. I've also encountered agents that don't speak English, and have even read about some people getting hung up on by some agents when attempting to book in English.

if I were u, I'd probably make the booking for my friend, but tell the agent that that my friend only speaks English. not sure if informing them prior to the session would make a difference, but it wouldn't hurt.

On several occasions I have phoned agents that offer phone appointments. Often the agent speaks no English and hangs up after hearing an inquiry in English. I have also contacted agents that speak English, but was informed that the service is offered to "China people only", so I agree it would be a good idea to let the agent know that you are booking for a friend, especially if the friend is not Chinese.
